Well, my first official week of summer has come to an end. It’s been quite a productive & exhilarating week! I’ve been trying to make a conscious effort to stick to my summer goals and stay on target. So far, so good.
At the beginning of the week, I played a little bit of catch up with a side of fun. Ella and I hit up the park with friends and ran some errands afterwards. I love having the whole day to get out of the house and meet up with Ella’s friends and their moms. Of course, they’re my friends too 😉 During the school year, I can never make it out because of my schedule. It’s nice to be able to enjoy our time out rather than rushing home so I can make it to work on time! Then it was basketball and drinks with my teammates in the evening. This was the first time we’ve gone out for drinks following a game, and I don’t think it will be the last!
Then it was girls night with baseball. Ella and I went to the Indians game with my mom. One of our favorite pre-game rituals is to have dinner at the Terrace Club at Progressive field. The food is always delicious. To spice up the menu, they always have a guest feature item. Wherever the visiting team is from, they have a special menu featuring food that the area is known for. Best part of the night, an Indians victory!
The following day, we dined at a new breakfast spot. Borderline Cafe here in Lakewood is a must go! The food was delicious. I ordered an avocado bacon benedict with a southwest sauce. It was scrumptious. On the weekends, this place has a line out the door so I’m glad we were able to enjoy it during the week with no wait. Later in the day, we met up with friends at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky for a mini vacay. They have a kid-friendly indoor waterpark, as well as an outdoor pool. It was a great break in the middle of the week. Plus, Ella got to spend time splishing and splashing with her friend.
As you can imagine, with all the fun activities taking place, my exercise routine (and diet) has taken a bit of a back seat. I’m trying to stay on task with completing the 12 weeks of the Bikini Body Guides (BBG). A couple early morning workouts got me back to where I needed to be. I just completed week 2 and haven’t missed one yet. The BBG is very flexible so I can choose and complete the workouts whenever I have time during the week. There’s 3 workouts per week plus cardio. Easy peasy.
At last, the weekend arrived. Yahoo! Ella was picked up by her grandparents to spend the weekend in Disney. She’s been having a great time and got to meet all of her favorite princesses. Brent & I stayed behind, ya know, to hold the fort down!
After a quick breakfast Saturday with my cousin, and a minor slip up while trying to visit my grandma, I finally made it to the Cleveland Flea. It was my first time back in 2 years and boy has it grown! It was so heart warming to see so many local entrepreneurs all in one spot. It was a bit overwhelming the amount of vendors to shop, so I’ll definitely have to go back to the next one!
And what’s a weekend without celebrating #nationalroseday?! You bet I downed a glass while at dinner. Speaking of dinner, Brent and I stopped by Sarita here in Lakewood. It was our first time there and it did not disappoint. We had one of the specials – the lobster gnocchi, yummy! It was so good. To cap off the night, we had the lemon cheesecake. It was mouthwatering, so good. I ordered an extra piece to take home!
I’m so excited to be off this summer and spend more quality time with all my family & friends. Here’s to hoping all my summer weeks are this exciting! What have you been up to this summer?!
