Already have exciting date plans for Valentine’s day? Good for you! We all know it’s coming, but I seem to be terrible at planning it. Date night out usually requires finding a babysitter, making dinner reservations/more planning, digging through the closet or trekking out in the cold mid-week. All of which, I don’t feel like doing. With crazy work schedules & the never ending northeast Ohio freeze, planning date night seems like such a daunting task.

No NEED to Panic.

There are plenty of other options besides stressing over how much of your monthly budget you want to spend on date night or if you have something cute & sexy to wear. Valentine’s Day is a great time to rekindle the romance from all the chaos of our daily lives. It’s also a great opportunity to get creative. Here are some great last minute, budget-friendly ideas to keep the flames burning:

This year, I’m using Valentine’s Day to really reignite the flame that has been faintly burning lately. With the hustle and bustle of the past few years- work, activities, Ella, hobbies, family, chores, real estate projects that go longer than anticipated – it’s put a bit of a strain on one of my most important relationships, Brent. I’ve always thought that date night has to be this big extravagant night out where we wine & dine around the town, close down the bars or do whatever that pretty much blows out our monthly budget. But, hey, we had fun, right? Date night doesn’t have to be anything like that. But quite the opposite, rather. It’s about spending quality time with the person you love.

I’ve always thought of Valentine’s Day as a bit of a cliche holiday, even though I’m a hopeless romantic at heart. With all of our goals within reach, it has a new meaning this year. Brent and I haven’t really romanticized the most romantic holiday of the year. But it’s never too late to change.

What are your plans for this Valentine’s Day? Dining at any new restaurants? Or will you be, like me, and picking something from the list? Whatever it may be, enjoy it with one(s) you love most!
